The Antidote to the Big Airport

Construction crews are scheduled to begin a project to repair the Airport Connector ramps entering and exiting Harrisburg International Airport.  "Stage one” construction is underway to reconstruct the left shoulder on a section of the inbound ramp.  While work is underway, motorists should expect to encounter overnight single-lane traffic restrictions on the inbound Airport Connector ramps between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.

Please be advised that inbound trucks will be detoured around the ramp closure by way of the ramp to Route 230, Ann Street and Airport Drive; and inbound motorists heading for the airport terminal will proceed down the right lane of the inbound bridge ramp, proceed past the water plant and under the first bridge.  As you approach the Airport Drive entrance to the Terminal Loop Road, you will encounter a STOP sign.  Vehicles going to the terminal & the Parking Garage will make a right turn at this STOP sign onto Loop Road.  Vehicles traveling east on Airport Drive (toward Long-Term/Economy Parking) will proceed straight ahead through the intersection after making a full stop.

PennDOT anticipates the overall project to be completed by the end of December.
