Voluntary Land Acquisition and Relocation Program

The Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority (SARAA) is implementing a Voluntary Land Acquisition and Relocation Program to purchase the residential properties located within the FAA approved noise zones within the boroughs Middletown and Royalton as identified in the approved Federal Aviation Regulations Part 150 Noise Study.

The purpose of this program is to provide property owners, who are bothered by the noise associated with aircraft operations, an opportunity to sell their homes on a strictly voluntary basis. Participation in the program is solely the decision of the property owner. Should a property owner decline participation in the program, SARAA will abandon the purchase. Properties are being purchased on a voluntary basis to provide relief of those homeowners adversely affected by aircraft noise. There will be no use of eminent domain. Only occupants of properties that are acquired by SARAA will be eligible for relocation benefits.

Click the linked text for a map of the affected areas (47 homes are affected), program fact sheets are available for the Middletown Borough and the Royalton Borourgh or for a full description/explanation of the Voluntary Land Acquisition and Relocation Program.

The presentation given at neighborhood meeting on March 10th is available here.
