Notice: Parking Tax Effective 10/1/2007*

Hourly/Daily Garage Parking:
Hours: Open 24 hours/day, 7 days/week

Rates: $1 per hour for the first hour, then $2 per hour for each additional hour, up to a daily maximum of $15, PLUS TAX. Use this lot for the pick-up and drop-off of passengers, or when traveling for just a few days. Major credit cards accepted. Garage clearance is eight (8) feet.

Directions: Follow the airport connector off Route 283 and stay to the left. As you approach the end of the connector stay in the left lane. Pass the old terminal building on your right and veer left toward the parking garage. Parking is available on the 2-4 levels only. The first level is for rental car returns only.


Long-term/Economy Parking Lot (Formerly SmartPark) :
Hours: Open 24 hours/day, 7 days/week

Rates: $1 for the first hour, then $2 per hour for each additional hour up to a daily maximum of $5 per day, $30 per week, PLUS TAX. This is the lot to use for those who will be traveling for more than a few days. Major credit cards accepted.

Schedule: This lot is served by large, passenger friendly shuttle buses that are fully compliant and accessible to those who are physically challenged. HIA Parking shuttle buses run approximately every 10 minutes, 24-hours a day from the numbered shelters in the Long-term/Economy lot to the terminal and back. It is recommended that you arrive in the Long-term/Economy lot 90 minutes before your scheduled departure.

Directions: Follow the airport connector off Route 283 and stay to the right. As you approach the end of the connector, stay right and follow the signs to Long-term/Economy Parking. On your right you will pass the parking garage, the terminal building, and the cargo operations area. Long-Term/Economy Parking will be on your right approximately 1/2 mile beyond the terminal building.

Parking for the Physically Disabled
Parking for the physically disabled is available in all parking lots at the rates listed above. Wheelchairs are available by making prior arrangements with your airline.

*Effective 10/1/2007 the Middletown Area School District, the Borough of Middletown and Lower Swatara Township have levied a 10 percent parking tax on all parking transactions.

Harrisburg International Airport has not increased its parking rates. The parking tax is calculated by adding 10 percent to your total parking bill for the time your vehicle was parked in either the HIA Hourly/Daily parking garage or in HIA’s Long-term/Economy lot. This tax is applicable to airport-parking patrons and has been deemed legal by the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania.
