Driving hours to save money on airfare?  Make sure you are saving as much as you think!

There is a time cost and an actual monetary cost associated with using any airport in the country.  What we’ve done is calculate the actual cost of driving to and from HIA, the value of the time to drive to and from HIA, as well as the cost of long-term parking at HIA. We then compared these costs with the same associated costs when choosing other airports outside our region.  
 

How the Calculator Works

First, choose your closest city of origin.  Second, enter the airfares quoted at HIA and any of the other three airports listed.  Finally, enter the number of days you plan to be parked overnight.  The total cost of your trip will be calculated.  
 
The difference is the savings offered when choosing HIA.
